Do I need a referral from a doctor to see a Physiotherapist?

No referral is necessary for standard clinic appointments. We can be your first port of call for assessment, treatment and management of pain and injury. If we feel that you require further investigations or assessment from an allied health professional we will refer you to them.

Certain appointment types do require a referral from your doctor prior to booking, such as Workers Compensation, Department of Veteran Affairs or under a CDM / ATSI care plan (for chronic disease management).

What should I expect when I come to my physiotherapy appointment? What should I wear?

The day before your appointment you will receive a reminder text. This text will include a link to your initial patient information form. Please complete prior to arriving. On arrival, you will be greeted by our receptionists. If you didn’t receive the text, let our receptionist know & you can fill in the form in clinic. When it is time for your appointment your physiotherapist will ask you to come into the treatment bay and ask you some questions about your pain and injury. Following this subjective assessment, our physiotherapist will then perform some physical testing to determine the cause of your problem. You may need to remove some clothing and place on a gown to assist with treatment. It is advisable to wear comfortable, well covering underwear. Our physiotherapist will then give you treatment and advice on your problem and give you some exercises to practice at home if required.

I’m pregnant, can I book an appointment?

Our physiotherapists Mrs Rachel Hey and Ms Emma Egginton are happy to see you during any stage of your pregnancy journey for assessment and treatment. Rachel and Emma are both also trained as women’s health physiotherapists. Make a Women’s Health appointment or be sure to let our receptionist know you’d like to book with Rachel or Emma for women’s health.

Do you have HICAPS and EFTPOS facilities? Do you bulk bill?

We have HICAPS and EFTPOS facilities in clinic which allows for easier payment and less out of pocket expense. We also accept cash. We do not bulk bill for private patients, except for those patients with a referral from their GP via a chronic disease management plan (CDM / EPC / ATSI) or DVA referral. Workers Compensation patients are billed directly to their insurance companies.

Does your clinic have a COVID safe plan?

Yes! Please read our COVID safe plan below.

Will my personal information be kept private and confidential?

Yes. It is our obligation not to discuss anything that is disclosed by you during your appointment. With your written permission we may send letters to your treating doctor to inform them of your treatment and condition.
