Our Philosophy.

At Core Elements Physiotherapy we provide professional, evidence based, hands on Physiotherapy appointments focused on providing outstanding injury assessment, treatment and pain management skills. We treat all injuries right from the acute stages all the way through to management and prevention of chronic pain problems. If we feel we are unable to help you we will refer you on to the appropriate allied health professional that can assist you further. Our goal is to make long term improvements to peoples function and overall quality of life through creating correct joint and body movements and muscle retraining and we have a strong emphasis on educating patients on self management skills and strategies to allow independence in recovery and maintenance of pain and injury.

At Core Elements Physiotherapy our emphasis is on creating a relaxed, inviting, family friendly environment.  We have HICAPS and EFTPOS which allows for easy payment options and less out of pocket expense.

Our clinic is easily accessible with ground floor access, on site parking available and wheelchair access.

PRINCIPLE PHYSIOTHERAPIST,
WOMEN’S HEALTH, CLINICAL PILATES

Rachel Hey

Rachel Hey is the business owner and Principal Physiotherapist of Core Elements Physiotherapy. Rachel has been a qualified physiotherapist for over 15 years and has worked in a private practice setting throughout her entire career. She graduated from Sydney University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) followed by a Master of Physiotherapy. She is also a APPI qualified Clinical Pilates Instructor. Rachel has always had a passion for sport and keeping active and has a great belief that exercise prescription plays a huge role in the recovery, maintenance and prevention of injury and pain. Rachel has also completed further qualifications in Women’s Health, Dry Needling and Dancing Athletes and is a member of the APA. 

Rachel has lived on the Central Coast for her whole life. She is married with two boys. Since becoming a Mum she has encountered her own issues with pelvic instability, lower back pain, patello femoral pain and a weak core and pelvic floor. Having experienced these conditions first hand she has great insight and understanding of these problems and how to manage them and still remain active. Rachel also understands the struggles of being a working mum and wife and how hard it is to find the time to look after yourself. This is why she has created a family friendly environment for people to come and experience high quality health care with the option of being able to bring your kids along with you

Alana Pearce

Alana has been a qualified physiotherapist for over 10 years working primarily in private practice with some elite sports experience working at events for Football NSW, NSW athletics, and local netball competitions. 

Alana graduated from Sydney University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Human Movement) followed by a Masters degree in Physiotherapy. Alana has additional qualifications in dry needling and APPI clinical pilates. Alana is also a member of the APA.

Alana has always been passionate about health and fitness. Over the years playing various sports Alana has had her fair share of her own sporting injuries, which has helped her develop a deeper understanding of musculoskeletal injuries and the recovery process. Alana is passionate about helping clients to better understand their injuries and their bodies and works to find a good balance of how clients can utilise exercises and strategies to achieve their goals and optimal function.     

Outside of work Alana loves spending time with her family, including her toddler and 1 year old twins. She loves the beach and generally being outdoors, and especially enjoys ocean swimming and netball.

Emma Egginton

Emma has been working as a qualified Physiotherapist for over 4 years in private practice. She has a focus on Women’s Health, Lymphoedema, Chronic pain and Hypermobility disorders. Emma graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Charles Sturt University in Orange.

 She is passionate about supporting women throughout their life stages and has a focus on prevention rather than treatment of conditions such as pelvic floor prolapse and incontinence. Currently Emma is an accredited Level One Women’s Health Physiotherapist and an accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner. She has also completed additional training in Muscle Energy techniques and Dry Needling which provides her with an array of treatment options in order to provide the best treatment for any concerns. Additionally she is also a member of the Women’s Health Training Associates, Australian Lymphology Association and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

 Emma grew up as a Central Coast local and was a competitive gymnast and coach. This has provided her with a fantastic insight into body movement and building strength and flexibility. It’s also given her a basis into working with hypermobility spectrum disorders.

When she isn’t at work you can find her with her partner and their fur child Clover. 

 Emma loves keeping active and is all about enjoying movement. She keeps fit at the gym, dance classes, hiking, running and paddleboarding with Clover.

REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPIST,
PILATES

Tarla Parata

Tarla graduated with a Diploma in Remedial Massage from Evolve College in November 2019 and is a qualified Matwork Pilates Instructor. She has always had a passion for the health & fitness industry and is very excited at the opportunity to work closely with our physiotherapists in a clinic environment. Tarla has also completed a certificate 4 in Allied Health Physiotherapy.

Tarla was born and raised on the Central Coast, NSW. She is a mum to 3 young boys who love to keep her busy and married to her teenage sweetheart. Tarla enjoys camping adventures with the family and long summer afternoons at the beach with friends.

Sophie Tinawi

Sophie graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science in 2020 and went on to complete a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2022. Soph has always had a passion for helping people when it comes to their health and fitness goals. Shes worked within the fitness industry for over 6 years and has developed a thorough understanding of human movement and exercise biomechanics. She firmly believes that exercise is the golden nugget to injury prevention and quality of life. Sophie loves to teach people how to overcome their fears when it comes to strength training and encourages her clients to keep active not only for their physical health but for their mental health as well. If she isn’t doing a sweaty workout at the gym, you’ll find her at the beach or enjoying an almond cappuccino with her friends.
